Our Story
Roxby Farm Supplies Ltd. developed as a stand-alone company in 2016, when a specialised farm veterinary practice recognised the need to bridge the gap between health planning and the practicalities of managing biosecurity on farms day to day.
More and more farm businesses decided to access our focussed independent technical advice about biosecurity and animal health supplies and in 2024 we were proud winners of the National Egg and Poultry Awards Trade Supplier of the Year award.
Continued growth brought scale to the business, which is now a master distributor for many brands.
A new chapter begins in 2025 following our merger with another independently owned company, Farm Mix Ltd., which operates from the same site located to the north of York.
The breadth of knowledge and experience brought about by the amalgamation of these two operations is unrivalled in the industry. The directors of both companies immediately recognised the opportunities afforded by combining skill sets and infrastructure. They are keen to emphasise that the integration will be a gradual process and customers can rest assured that it will remain “business as usual.”

Mark Howells
Director

Mark’s experience as a farm vet brought home the importance of a holistic approach to managing disease and provided the impetus to start Roxby Farm Supplies. The ambition was to provide a standalone point of contact for farmers to source appropriate quality products, backed up by freely available independent technical advice. Roxby Farm Supplies is uniquely placed, being able to provide expertise and back up from its sister company, Farm Mix Ltd.
Vicky Garbutt
Manager

Vicky has a background in HR, finance, and business development. Vicky also oversees Health and Safety at the Roxby site. Outside of work she enjoys exploring the countryside and villages which she now calls home and spending time with her children and animals.
Simon Rawson
General Manager

Simon holds an NDA in Agriculture and HNC Management at Bishop Burton College. He then he ran the family farms and founded and built up a successful supply business, which he eventually sold. Simon has worked within all aspects of the agricultural supply chain from production through to procurement, specialising in livestock production.
Simon joined Roxby Farm Supplies in 2020 and continues to oversee its expansion and development. In his spare time, he likes to cycle and spend time with his wife and family.
Ellie Powlton
Accounts & Office Administrator

Ellie started her role with Roxby Farm Supplies in April 2022. She runs the office and customers quickly get to know her when phoning in for orders or advice. Ellie has assimilated a vast knowledge of the industry requirements and the solutions available within the RFS range and she will soon clarify anything she is unsure about or pass you on to the relevant advisor. Ellie undertakes administration and invoicing and is responsible for stock control.
Ellie grew up nearby and enjoys spending time out in the countryside on long walks with her springer spaniel, watching rugby and cricket, and participating in country sports.
Kathie Bell

Kathie joined us in June 2016 after spending four years in New Zealand working in a business and accounts role; she manages purchase ledger and outstanding accounts. Kathie is a local farmer’s daughter and has a excellent knowledge of the local farming industry.
Richard Bows
Sales Representative

Richard has a wealth of practical and technical pig knowledge gained over the last 40 years. After working as head stockman for Cotswold Pigs on one of their Nucleus Units, he spent 22 years as a Unit Manager for Ermine Farms. He joined Howells Vets and Roxby Farm Supplies at the beginning of March 2020 fresh from AHDB where he was a Knowledge Exchange Manager for 8 years. His personal interests include watching most sports, gardening, and enjoying a regular walk with his wife.
